Introduction:

Canadian newspapers across our vast country were likely filled with reports from Dieppe for several days after the tragic circumstances in France.

Having recently read copies of The Tribune via a University of Manitoba website I can say that I kept finding significant details related to the involvement of our Armed Forces well into the September issues.

Provided below are numerous reports that provide details about ongoing actions on war fronts other than directly at Dieppe.

Not everyone will agree with some of the headlines, but the Canadian Air Force receives recognition for a job well done during "the greatest of all Commando raids," also called "Canada's Greatest Day In This War" as we see below.

Another fine tribute to The Cameron Men of Winnipeg follows:

Readers are encouraged to remember that not only were members of the RCN and RCNVR lost at sea, but members of Canada's lesser known Merchant Navy also suffered great losses. Before I learned that my father was a member of RCNVR and Combined Operations I believed he was a Merchant Seaman who took part in convoy duty, and after reading about the 'U-Boat War' and how many cargo ships were sunk in the Atlantic I wondered, "Who would ever want to be a Merchant Mariner?"

More editorial by Randolph Patton, also featured in an earlier post (Context: Dieppe (1):

Mystery for readers below. Thumbs up for an article about (not by) Ross Munro. But who wrote it (initials J. B.)?

Mr. J. J. Horton, over military age, applied to enlist to back up his son, about whom there is no word - as of yet.  Let's keep a look out for Pte. Victor Horton on upcoming casualty lists:

The group photo below was too big to display in one piece, and appears below with some overlap, and all the names are listed from left to right:
